If I could cast anyone to narrate my artistic journey, I’d pick Morgan Freeman. Unfortunately, since he won’t answer my calls, I’m counting on you to read the below in his voice:
BIO
Nicholas T. Jones, known as ‘TEEJ’ (b. 1991, Colorado Springs, CO), is an emerging visual artist currently living between Charleston, SC and Atlanta, GA. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and his work has been exhibited at select exhibitions, including at the U.S. Capitol(2009), Griffin Museum of Photography (2024), KAILIN ART(2024), Midtown Alliance’s Southeast outdoor art gallery in Atlanta, GA(2024), and at Gallery 1516 in Omaha, Nebraska(2024). Through photography and mixed media, Jones’ work introduces narratives that challenge societal views of Black culture, beauty, and fashion while allowing him to be driven by the curiosities of the world around him. Often entangled with social undertones and self-discovery, his storytelling is emphasized by a cinematic approach that vicariously straddles the line between exaggeration and reality.
Quietly behind the scenes, Jones has worked with and offered his eye for photography, production, social media, and photo editing to top entertainment agencies, studios, and talent. His growing client list includes but is not limited to Disney General Entertainment, Simpson Street, Digital Media Management in collaboration with Hulu-Onyx Collective’s Reasonable Doubt S2, Freeform’s Grown-ish S5, Nick Cannon’s WildNOut, Xfinity in collaboration with Derek ‘Fonzworth’ Bentley, and the Calm app.
